Meet the TALENT

PHYLLIS BOUCHER
Phyllis is the director and owner of Dance Xpressions. Her specialties are in the style of Jazz, Modern and Lyrical, though she is also trained in Ballet, Tap and Hip Hop. She has over twenty-five years experience in dance, teaching, performance and choreography. She began her dance training at Miss Vicki's School of Dance in CT and continued her studies at CCSU. Later she received a diploma in Dance Pedagogy from the Hartford Conservatory in CT where she studied under such teachers as Judi Tolomea, Sarah Franklin and Kent Lindermer. Upon graduation she was chosen to participate in a teacher's workshop at Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival in MA where she studied under Milton Meyers. Phyllis has also performed for the Hartford Conservatory and has been a member of the Annex Dance Company. She has taken various workshops and master classes including courses at the Broadway Dance Center in NY. Phyllis was a co-owner of PK's Dance Academy in CT, the director of the dance department for Northwest Catholic High School and an instructor/choreographer for various places including the Hartford Conservatory, Farmington and Avon Parks and Recreation Department and various studios in CT. All her experiences have driven her passion to teach. Phyllis enjoys bringing her experiences into the classroom for all her students to share. She focuses on not only classroom experience but dance experience as a whole. She helps her more dedicated students with performance and competition skills through the DX Dance Team, exposing them to various performance opportunities, competitions, workshops and trips to New York throughout the year. Whether the student is dancing for fun or professional interest she takes pride in her student's progress. Currently Phyllis is working on becoming Dance Masters of America certified. With the new facility and the strength of her faculty she is looking forward to advancing her students toward their goals and helping them fulfill their dreams .
